Before the start, here is the brief:
But here we will start from the beginning.
At the Hardware tab for the VM, you select “Add”,

Then select “USB Device”, you might find your keyboard and mouse set. Here I have a wireless keyboard and mouse dongle.

You can now start the VM, the device might not work perfectly and consistently now because of the “power management” problem.
In the post [https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/usb-mouse-keyboard-passthrough-to-win7-win10.35269/,](https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/usb-mouse-keyboard-passthrough-to-win7-win10.35269/) the author suggests that we should disable the power management feature of the USB controller on Windows. I tried and it worked!
You go to “Device manager” and then find under “Human Interface Devices” all the “USB Input Device”, since I don’t know which I will disable the feature from all.

The selection is under “Power Management” tab, you can access via “Properties”. Uncheck the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
